About SCYD
SCYD is a fast-growing, youth-led organization committed to building a more just, inclusive, and engaged community for young people across Saratoga County.
We bring together young Democrats, ages 16 to 35, who are ready to turn their political energy, frustration, and hope into meaningful action. Whether it’s organizing, advocating, campaigning, or running for office, we believe in using our collective power to fight for the future we want.
Rooted in the values of service, inclusion, and civic engagement, SCYD provides a space for young people to learn, lead, and make change at the local, state, and federal levels. We support and endorse candidates who reflect our mission, and we equip the next generation of Democratic leaders with the tools, mentorship, and community they need to succeed.
We focus primarily on the issues that matter most to young people in Saratoga County, including environmental protection, affordable housing, gun violence prevention, access to reproductive healthcare, and pedestrian and bike-friendly infrastructure.
We are proudly chartered with the New York State Young Democrats, the Young Democrats of America, and the Saratoga County Democratic Committee, while maintaining full independence to take action in alignment with our values. Our five-person Executive Board leads the organization with transparency and dedication.
Whether you're interested in grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, or simply connecting with like-minded peers, SCYD offers a welcoming space for you to get involved. Join us as we work together to build a brighter future for Saratoga County and beyond.
